Main tank quantity

  • Confirm the fuel gauge reading by ‘dipping’ the fuel tank, using the fuel stick located under the left seat

  • There are lines on both sides of the fuel stick indicating the gallons of fuel remaining in the tanks

    • The side with lines going up to 10 is for the aux tank (removed on LEFA R22s), while the side with lines going up to 17 is for the main tank

  • Remove the fuel cap and place it in your back pocket (will help prevent forgetting to put it back on)

  • Ensure the fuel stick is clean, with no debris on it

  • While keeping a firm grip (so as to not drop the stick in the tank), insert the fuel stick into the fuel tank until the angled line above the 17 is in line with the top rim of the fuel tank

  • Raise the fuel stick out of the fuel tank and observe the indication on the fuel stick

  • Ensure the quantity of fuel in the tank is the same amount you observed on the fuel guage

  • Return the fuel stick under the left seat
